Bloemendaal stays in play-offs race, narrow victory Oranje-Rood
Bloemendaal's men remain in sight of a ticket for the playoffs. At the Klapperboom in Utrecht, The Mussen dealt with Kampong: 5-3. Bloemendaal is sixth, but has fourth-placed Amsterdam within reach. The difference is just one point. Kampong is 10 points behind Amsterdam with six matches to go. Leaders Oranje-Rood maintained their unbeaten status after the narrow win over Klein Zwitserland: 1-0. At the bottom, the meeting between direct competitors HDM and Schaerweijde had no winner: 1-1.
KAMPONG - BLOEMENDAAL 3-5
Troubled Kampong, which had yet to win after the winter break, knew it would have a tough task against Bloemendaal. The last five home matches with The Mussen in the regular league were lost and in the last 10 matches at the Klapperboom, they only drew twice. This time too, coach Tim Oudenaller's team was empty-handed afterwards. Bloemendaal recorded a 5-3 win in a match in which Jip Janssen made his comeback at Kampong. The penalty corner specialist played his last game on 26 October last year, before a knee injury kept him sidelined for months. He could not prevent Kampong from suffering their third defeat in the last four matches. Bloemendaal recorded their third win in the last seven matches.
ORANGE-ROOD - LITTLE SWITZERLAND 1-0
Who else than Struan Walker gave frontrunner Oranje-Rood the win over Klein Zwitserland. The Scot scored his nineteenth goal of the season from a penalty corner just before half-time. Coach Ageeth Boomgaardt's team is unbeaten for nineteen games. On home soil, Oranje-Rood is already fifteen matches without defeat. Unlike the last three home games, in which the team scored sixteen goals, this time it remained with that one goal from Walker. Klein Zwitserland suffered their fifth defeat of the season and remain eighth.
HDM - SCHAERWEIJDE 1-1
HDM has never lost to Schaerweijde in the Tulp Hoofdklasse and did not do so this time either. The home team took the lead through Tom Provily, but Schaerweijde equalised in the fourth quarter through Niels de Joode. On the league table, the difference between the two teams remains four points in favour of HDM, which is ninth. The Hague team has now been waiting for six matches on their own field. Schaerweijde has also lost the sweetness of victory and is also waiting six games for a win.
LAREN - AMSTERDAM 1-3
After competitor Den Bosch's 6-3 win over Pinoké, Amsterdam had to win from number eleven Laren to stay ahead of the Bossche formation in the rankings. The national champions succeeded, although they were trailing 1-0 at half-time. The difference was only made in the last quarter, with Amsterdam taking advantage of a yellow card on the Laren side for Diederick van Berckel. Boris Burkhardt took Amsterdam to 1-2 with his eighteenth goal of the season, before Dayaan Cassiem put the 1-3 on the board in the closing stages. The win extended Amsterdam's unbeaten streak to six matches. Laren suffered its fifth defeat in a row and is already eight matches without a win. With five points, Laren remains eleventh. Amsterdam is fourth with 31 points.
HURLEY - ROTTERDAM 0-6
Rotterdam's arrival at the Amsterdam Forest was feared by Hurley. In the last three encounters, the Rotterdammers scored as many as 27 goals. This time too, Rotterdam scored lustily and the counter stopped at 0-6. Guus Jansen and Olivier Hortensius each scored two goals. Rotterdam again lived up to its reputation as the most scoring team in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men. The Rotterdammers have already scored 67 goals this season. It was also the fourth league win in a row for the team of outgoing coach Erik van Driel. In the league table, Rotterdam is second, three points behind leader Oranje-Rood. Hurley remains bottom after its fifth consecutive defeat with one point from sixteen games.
