Burkhardt and Bukkens already on 20 goals this season
The battle for the lead on the top scorers' list is, for now, a straight fight between Boris Burkhardt and Miles Bukkens. Both attackers now stand on 20 goals this season.
Burkhardt scored two goals last Sunday in Amsterdam's away game with Nijmegen (0-3) and Bukkens struck twice on behalf of Pinoké on a visit to Oranje-Rood (4-3). The pair have a four-goal gap on their closest pursuers, with Bloemendaal's Marc Miralles being the biggest competitor (16 goals).
Burkhardt is only two goals away from a new personal record after 14 rounds of play. That was set during last season, when the 28-year-old striker produced 21 league goals for Amsterdam. Things will have to get really weird if Burkhardt, who scored in 11 of the 14 rounds, does not want to surpass that number.
Bukkens already holds a new personal record. He never before reached the mark of 20 goals in one season. His previous top production dated from two seasons ago, when he scored 12 goals on behalf of Pinoké.
