Hertzberger completes bingo card and reaches 600-goal mark

Jeroen Hertzberger once again shot out of his shell on Sunday. The 39-year-old Rotterdam striker accounted for no fewer than five of the eight goals in the spectacular 8-4 home victory over Nijmegen. In doing so, he hit not one, but two fine milestones.
First of all: the bingo card is finally full. Hertzberger has now scored against all premier league clubs he has ever faced. Only Nijmegen was still missing from his list, as he remained dry in the outward game (2-2) earlier this season. On Sunday, he more than made up for that.
With the addition of Nijmegen, Hertzberger has now scored against 21 different premier league clubs. In total, those teams together had to bow to the Rotterdam goalgetter 382 times. HGC is his favourite victim, with no fewer than 37 goals. Pinoké (34 goals) and Den Bosch (33 goals) follow close behind.
600 goals
Even more impressive than his full bingo card is the milestone Hertzberger reached with his five-goal haul: the 600th official goal in his career. With his farewell at Rotterdam approaching, he jacked up his total to exactly 600 goals: 452 for Rotterdam, 21 in the Indian and Malaysian leagues and 127 as an Orange player.
Of his 452 club goals, exactly four hundred came under the Hoofdklasse flag: 382 in the regular league and eighteen in the play-offs for the national title. A production to be proud of.
Hertzberger has two more games in the regular league this season to raise his total even further. With 24 goals this season, the all-time top scorer in the Hoofdklasse is still in the race to become top scorer in the Netherlands. Timo Boers (26 goals for Den Bosch) and Boris Burkhardt (Amsterdam) are the only two players who have scored more often.
