Tim Oudenaller is leaving as head coach of the Kampong men's team after this season. The 41-year-old coach is in his fourth year with the Utrechters.

The absolute highlight of Oudenaller's period at Kampong was capturing the national title in season 2023-2024. The team also reached the final of the Euro Hockey League earlier that season (1-0 defeat against Pinoké) and won the battle for the Gold Cup against Almere (7-2).

Oudenaller was appointed at Kampong in the summer of 2022 to succeed Roelant Oltmans. Previously, he worked as a trainer for many years within the Utrecht youth academy and was coach of Qui Vive and Schaerweijde, among others.

Sport wise, the current season is not going as well. Kampong - plagued by many injuries - currently occupies seventh place in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.

Difference of opinion
On his upcoming farewell, Oudenaller says: 'After a number of years, it is always good to evaluate what the team and I need. At the moment, the club and I have too many differences of opinion to add more seasons.'

Mark Jebbink, Kampong top hockey board member: 'We thank Tim for all the years of loyal service and all the awards he has won for Kampong. We are also grateful to him for all the talent he has trained, blossomed or managed to scout for the club.'

It is not yet known where Oudenaller will coach next season. This winter, he is coaching the Delhi SG Pipers in the Hockey India League.
