Kampong in final after second thumping of Bloemendaal
Sun 18 May 16:00
Men 1 - 3

Kampong has qualified for the final of the playoffs in the Tulp Hoofdklasse at the expense of top favourite Bloemendaal. The surprising 5-2 victory on Saturday was followed by a convincing 1-3 win a day later at 't Kopje.
The man of the weekend? Without a doubt Jip Janssen. The penalty corner phenomenon was good for two penalty corners and two penalty strokes on Saturday, making him Kampong's all-time top scorer in the playoffs. A day later he was there again. At the first corner of the match he struck again mercilessly - setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Bloemendaal, however, started as towering favourites. The Mussen finished first in the regular league and were aiming for their 23rd national title. But against an unleashed Kampong - and especially against an elusive Janssen - even the record champion proved hopeless. After Janssen's opening goal, Marc Miralles levelled the score for The Mussen, but in the fourth quarter Janssen and Boet Phijffer struck again: 1-2 and 1-3. Bloemendaal did not recover from those blows.
Defending champion Kampong reached the final of the playoffs for the second time in a row and for the seventh time in total. The final match, over two matches, is scheduled for 25 and 29 May.
