Derck de Vilder signs contract extension with Kampong
Kampong has extended midfielder Derck de Vilder's contract. The 26-year-old Netherlands international will remain with the Utrecht club until mid-2028.
De Vilder has played for Kampong since the 2018-2019 season and has been able to make his mark on the reigning national champion's game over the years. Since that debut season, the technically gifted midfielder has also been part of the national team, for which he has now played 75 international matches and scored six goals. Last summer, De Vilder won the Olympic title with the Dutch team in Paris.
'Derck is an incredible player: not only because of his technical qualities, but also because of his professionalism. He is an example for the young players within the club and an important link in the team,' said Mark Jebbink of the Top Hockey Committee in the press release issued by the club.
'Kampong feels like my second home, both on and off the pitch,' De Vilder says. 'I am proud to stay at this club for the next three years and achieve great successes together with my teammates, both nationally and internationally.'
