Amsterdam sign Lucas Corstens from Schaerweijde
Amsterdam has strengthened its squad for next season with the talented Lucas Corstens. The 17-year-old midfielder currently plays for Schaerweijde in the Promotieklasse.
Last season, the teenager already made minutes at the highest level with Schaerweijde, which eventually relegated directly to the Promotieklasse. Last week, Corstens was added to the Dutch national team as a trainee player.
'Lucas is known as a young talent and can develop further in the coming years,' Joris Albers, board member of Tophockey Amsterdam, said in the press release. 'In addition, he is a nice fresh guy who fits perfectly within the Amsterdam DNA. We look forward to his arrival and are sure he will contribute to Amsterdam's ambitions with his energy, drive and quality'.
After Lucas Middendorp (Klein Zwitserland) and Ollie Payne (from England's Holcombe), Corstens is already the third newcomer for next season at the current number two of the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
