Tilburg opts for trainer duo Baart and Van Nuland
Tilburg have found the successors to departing men's coach Dennis Dijkshoorn in the duo of Sander Baart and Joep van Nuland. Under Dijkshoorn, the team recently promoted to the Tulp Hoofdklasse via the play-offs at the expense of Laren.
Baart played for years at the highest level with clubs like Oranje Zwart, Oranje-Rood and Belgian Royal Antwerp. With Oranje Zwart, he became national champion three times and won the Euro Hockey League. In addition, Baart was part of Oranje, with whom he took silver at the 2012 Olympics and won European Championship gold in 2015 and 2017, among others.
Besides Baart, Van Nuland will have an important role within the staff. Van Nuland has been involved within the club for many years and has been committed to coaching and developing talented players from the youth academy. In addition, he is a video analyst for the Dutch team.
'Sander brings with him the experience of the absolute hockey top as a former international and Olympic medallist. Joep adds his knowledge of modern performance analysis, his experience with the Dutch team and his deep connection with Tilburg. Together, they have qualities that perfectly match the ambitions of our club,' says Tilburg board member of top hockey Sander Visser.
