The Tulp Hoofdklasse Men begins a new season today. We list the key facts and figures ahead of the first round of play.

AMSTERDAM - HURLEY

What the stats say

  • Amsterdam won its last 15 matches against Hurley since a 1-1 at Wagener Stadium on 14 March 2012.
     
  • Amsterdam remained unbeaten against Hurley (W23 D2) for 25 matches in a row since a 0-1 defeat on 22 April 2001. The winning goal that day came from Alexander Ket.
     
  • Amsterdam scored 18 goals in its last three matches with Hurley.
     
  • Hurley scored in 15 of its 16 away matches with Amsterdam (26 goals). It only failed to do so on 24 October 1999 (3-0 defeat).
     
  • Hurley won its opening game of the season last season: against fellow promoter it finished 2-0. That was only the second time Hurley won an opening game of the season, after a 3-6 at Kampong in 2011.

  • Bloemendaal is 24 league games in a row unbeaten against HDM (W23 D1) since a 1-2 defeat on home turf on 7 May 1995.

What the stats say

  • Den Bosch has failed to win against provincial rival Oranje-Rood for years. The Black and Yellow have been winless for 10 games in a row (D6 L4).
     
  • Den Bosch's last win over Oranje-Rood dates back to 8 December 2019: 3-2 at Oosterplas through goals by Daniel Aarts and Sebastien Dockier (two). Thibeau Stockbroekx and Benjamin Stanzl scored against on behalf of the Eindhoven side.
     
  • The last two matches between the two teams ended in a draw with a total of 12 goals: 2-2 and 4-4.
     
  • Oranje-Rood scored 57 goals in 22 matches last season, the second highest number in club history. Only in 2020-2021 was the number of goals against higher (63).

What the stats say

  • Of the last five meetings between them, Pinoké won two and Rotterdam three.
     
  • Going back a little further, the balance is completely balanced: of the last 14 matches, Pinoké won six, against six wins for Rotterdam. Twice they drew in that series.
     
  • The most goal-rich edition of Pinoké-Rotterdam was the 5-5 of 19 April 2009. A season later, it was 4-4 on the pitch of the Steekneuzen, the second-most goal-rich edition.
     
  • Pinoké finished last season's regular league strongly, with six wins in the last eight matches (L2). Before that, however, the Steekneuzen experienced a poor phase, with six defeats in seven matches (W1).
     
  • Rotterdam will have to do without the contribution of Jeroen Hertzberger in the Hoofdklasse for the first time in twenty seasons, the top scorer of all time in the Dutch league with 383 goals.
