Yannick van der Drift leaves Bloemendaal
Yannick van der Drift is swapping Bloemendaal for HBS, which finished tenth in the Overgangsklasse last season. Van der Drift played fifteen seasons with Bloemendaal, eight of them in Men's 1.
With The Mussen, the striker won the Euro Hockey League three times and captured three national championships. Van der Drift also played two seasons in Spain for Real Club de Polo of Barcelona. With the Dutch national team, he became world and European Hockey5s champion.
'The play-offs and the EHL were highlights, of course, especially with family and friends in the stands. But I also remember the smaller moments: the team weekends, the humour, and people like Cees Koppelaar, you don't forget figures like that,' Van der Drift says on Bloemendaal's website. 'Work requires more attention and my body is getting a bit stiff. I'm looking forward to some more space for other things: friends, family, my girlfriend. (...) And I don't rule out returning to 't Kopje one day. Maybe in second.'
