Amsterdam battles to final in spectacle against Den Bosch
Sun 18 May 18:00
Men 3 - 3

Amsterdam has qualified for the final of the playoffs in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men at the expense of Den Bosch. In an exciting second matches it finished 3-3, enough to advance after the earlier 3-2 win on Saturday.
The big man on the Amsterdam side was Boris Burkhardt, who took his team by the hand with a hat-trick. The striker signed the 0-1 early in the match, but top marksman Timo Boers quickly brought Den Bosch alongside with a penalty stroke. Boers then also put his team ahead from a penalty corner, before Tom Sorsby even made it 3-1. A tip-in by Burkhardt just before half-time kept Amsterdam in the race.
In the third quarter, it was again Burkhardt who struck, this time making it 3-3. That proved enough to secure the final. It is the first time since 2012 that Amsterdam can compete in the final for the national title again. In that final match it will meet Kampong, who surprisingly eliminated Bloemaal. The final promises to be a clash of canons: penalty corner king Jip Janssen versus Burkhardt, the goal scoring machine in top form. The matches are scheduled for 25 and 29 May.
