Amsterdam presents Trijntje Beljaars as latest recruit
Amsterdam continues to stir emphatically in the player market. A day after announcing the arrival of Ivy Tellier, the club has already secured another reinforcement: 20-year-old midfielder Trijntje Beljaars.
The Eindhoven native comes over from SCHC, where she strengthened the attack for the past three seasons. Before that, she played in the Hoofdklasse at Oranje-Rood, the club where her hockey career started. Beljaars joined the national team last winter after a good performance with the Dutch Junior squad. She made her debut for the Dutch national team late last year in a Pro League match against Argentina and is now on four international matches.
'My time at SCHC was very instructive and I am grateful for everything I experienced there,' Beljaars told Amsterdam's press release. 'Yet it feels time for something else; the chance to be allowed to build something new in which I can develop myself more broadly as a hockey player.'
After Tellier, Beljaars is already the fifth newcomer at Amsterdam for next season. The club previously signed Katerina Langedijk (Bloemendaal), Daantje de Kruijff (Hurley) and Imke Verstraeten (Pinoké).
