Burkhardt in the footsteps of goalgetter Mirco Pruyser
Boris Burkhardt has regained sole possession of the lead on the top scorers' list since last weekend. The Amsterdam striker now stands at 24 goals, one more than Miles Bukkens (Pinoké) and Jip Janssen (Kampong).
Burkhardt accounted for one of Amsterdam's three goals in the top match with Rotterdam (3-3) last Sunday. He is the first Amsterdam player since Mirco Pruyser in season 2017-2018 to reach at least 24 goals in one season. Pruyser made 26 that season.
Burkhardt has four more games in the regular league to further boost his production. Should he reach the 30-goal mark, it would already be a rare feat for an Amsterdam player: only four players ever managed that on behalf of the club.
Burkhardt will not break a club record this season, that much is now certain. That already stands since 2007-2008 in the name of Taeke Taekema, who then scored 43 (!) goals in 22 matches.
