Third place for Pinoké, Oranje-Rood win over HDM
Pinoké women go into the winter break as the number three in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. The Steekneuzen passed neighbours Amsterdam on the league table after Sunday's 4-1 win over Rotterdam.
PINOKÉ - ROTTERDAM 4-1
In recent years, Pinoké did not have much to fear from Rotterdam. That was no different this time: Pinoké won 4-1. Kari Stam scored three goals, doubling her season total to six. Bente Jager put the final score on the board after Yasmin Geerlings had scored for Rotterdam moments before. Thanks to the victory, Pinoké climbed to third place in the league table at the expense of Amsterdam. The difference between the two teams is two points. Rotterdam dropped to tenth place in favour of HDM, which has a slightly better goal difference. Both teams are on ten points after thirteen games.
ORANGE-RED - HDM 1-0
A goal by Babs van Hest after six minutes proved to be enough for Oranje-Rood for their second win of the season. This brought an end to the run of three games without a win. Moreover, coach Mark Dekker's team finally won again in front of their own fans after five home defeats in a row. HDM suffered its fourth consecutive league defeat and also failed to produce a single goal. HDM, which despite the defeat moved up to the safe ninth place at the expense of Rotterdam, is only two points ahead of Oranje-Rood, which increased the gap with Huizen to seven points.
HOUSES - HGC 0-5
Just like in the reverse match in Wassenaar, Sunday's match between Huizen and HGC ended 5-0 in favour of coach Bas Bogaard's team. With two goals, Amy Costello laid the foundation for victory. The Scot scored both times from a penalty corner, her seventh and eighth goal of the season. Julie Sytsema, Joosje Rijpstra and Faye Muijderman scored the other Wassenaar goals.
HGC thus won its third away game in a row, which the team last managed in 2022. Huizen suffered its eighth consecutive defeat and did not score a single goal in that series. With that, coach Donald Drost's team is already 484 minutes without a goal in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. Huizen finishes the first half of the season as bottom of the league with just one point from 13 league games. HGC goes into the winter break in eighth place.
TILBURG - HURLEY 1-1
The battle between these mid-table teams remained undecided. After half-time Hurley took the lead through Dymph Luttge, but Mikki Roberts prevented the three points from coming back to the Amsterdamse Bos with a well-aimed penalty corner. It was the fifth goal of the season for Roberts. Both teams did not gain much from the point. Hurley remains sixth and Tilburg seventh with seventeen from thirteen matches each. The gap on number five Kampong was reduced to three points, but the lead on number eight HGC shrank from four to two points.
