First league win Hurley, Pinoké passes Den Bosch
On the eighteenth round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men's competition, Hurley recorded its first league win. In The Hague, the team of outgoing coach Enzo Torossi was 2-1 too strong for HDM on Sunday. Despite the win, Hurley remains bottom of the league, although the gap to number eleven Laren has shrunk to one point. Laren lost 5-3 at home to Pinoké, which climbed to fourth place in the rankings at the expense of Den Bosch, which lost 3-1 to Rotterdam at the Oosterplas. Leader Oranje-Rood dealt with Bloemendaal. It became 4-1.
HDM - Hurley 1-2
Finally there was the first league win for Hurley. After 27 premier league games without victory, HDM was beaten. It was the first win since 23 November 2024, when Hurley won 3-2 against SCHC. It was Hjalmar Voskuil who scored a penalty corner in the last seconds to give the straggler the full win. This ended a run of six defeats in a row. For the first time since 8 November last year (3-3 at home against Laren), Hurley did not go empty-handed. As number eleven Laren lost, the gap was reduced to one point and Hurley has every chance of avoiding direct relegation again. HDM, which won only one of its last ten matches, remains relegation worries. The difference with number ten Schaerweijde is one point.
Oranje-Rood - Bloemendaal 4-1
Oranje-Rood recorded only their second ever home victory over Bloemendaal. The previous victory was on 26 March 2017, when the Eindhoven merged club won 5-4. This time, the margin was bigger and the leaders won 4-1. Struan Walker and Borja Lacalle scored two goals each. Top scorer Walker of the Tulp Hoofdklasse lifted his season total to 24. With this number, he equalled Mink van der Weerden's club record. Van der Weerden reached 24 goals in the 2017-2018 season. Meanwhile, Oranje-Rood is already 21 games without defeat. At home, the unbeaten run has risen to 16. Bloemendaal suffered another defeat on foreign soil after five away matches. A defeat that may cost the team dearly. Bloemendaal remains sixth, five points behind number four Pinoké. With four games to go, Bloemendaal risks missing the play-offs for the first time in ten years.
Den Bosch - Rotterdam 1-3
Rotterdam continues to run fine in the Tulp Hoofdklasse and recorded its sixth win in a row at the Oosterplas. That is currently the longest winning streak of any premier league team. Early in the match, Rotterdam took the lead through Thijs van Dam. Just before half-time, Timo Boers equalised with a penalty stroke. It was already his twentieth goal of the season. Five minutes after half-time, perhaps the goal of the year was scored. Pepijn van der Heijden's long scoop from behind was tennised into the goal by Timme van der Heijden. Nick van Trigt finally decided the match in Rotterdam's favour, which remains second on three points from leader Oranje-Rood. Den Bosch, which saw its run of three wins in a row come to an end, dropped to fifth place by the defeat, two points off new number four Pinoké.
Laren - Pinoké 3-5
Just like in the outing (8-3 win Pinoké), both teams managed to find the goal frequently again. At half-time, Pinoké led 4-1. Joep Troost was prolific twice for Pinoké and has now scored nineteen goals. Miles Bukkens also scored and lifted his total to fifteen goals. More importantly, the win meant Pinoké took over fourth place in the league table from Den Bosch. The win ended a series in which Pinoké went three matches without a win. Laren suffered its fifth consecutive home defeat and is already ten matches without a win. The team has Hurley breathing down its neck, which is just one point behind in its 2-1 win over HDM.
Amsterdam - Klein Zwitserland 3-1
Amsterdam had to wait a while for it, but won against Klein Zwitserland for the first time since 28 February 2021 at the Wagener Stadium. Boris Burkhardt scored two of the three Amsterdam goals. It could have been three, but Burkhardt left the second penalty stroke for the Amsterdammers unused. He lifted his season total to 20 goals. With the win, Amsterdam is now eight league games without defeat and has now won three in a row. Klein Zwitserland suffered its third defeat in the last six matches. In away games, the Hague team has won only one in the last eight matches on foreign soil.
