SCHC women took a big step towards the final of the play-offs for the national championship in Amstelveen on Saturday. The team from Bilthoven convincingly beat Pinoké 5-0 in the first matches of the semi-finals.

Pien Dicke gave SCHC an early lead at the Amsterdamse Bos, after clever preparatory work by Isa van Heerde. The striker doubled the margin shortly before half-time with her second goal of the afternoon, this time on a pass from 15-year-old Lotte Ruts.

In the third quarter, coach Gilles van Hesteren's formation ran out further through Lisa Post (tip-in from a penalty corner) and a hit by Ruts. Penalty corner specialist Yibbi Jansen made the final score with a hit drag flick.

For Pinoké, the match was a historic milestone: the club made its debut in the playoffs with the women's team. But against the experienced SCHC, the team got a lesson in effectiveness. The 0-5 score went into the books as the biggest win ever in the club's play-off history.

Sunday will see the second matches: both teams will face each other at the Kees Boekelaan in Bilthoven.
