Frédérique Matla strikes again against Pinoké
Frédérique Matla and Yibbi Jansen took over the lead on the top scorer list in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women last weekend from Amsterdam attacker Fay van der Elst.
Matla contributed with two goals to Den Bosch's big 6-1 win over Pinoké, while Yibbi Jansen saved a point for SCHC in the away game with HGC (2-2) with two right penalty corners. Both top shooters are now on nine goals after nine rounds of play, two more goals than their closest rivals.
That Matla scored again against Pinoké was actually already written in the stars. The team from Amstelveen is by far the favourite opponent of the 27-year-old goalgetter. In the Hoofdklasse, she scored 27 of her 178 goals against the Steekneuzen, more than against any other team.
Milestone at the Oosterplas
With her two goals against Pinoké, Matla reached another fine milestone with Den Bosch. They were her 99th and 100th goals in an official home game at the Oosterplas: she scored 85 in the regular league, ten in the play-offs, two in the Gold Cup and three in European competitions.
Striking name
In the upper reaches of the top scorers list, we find a striking name: that of Bibi Donraadt. The 24-year-old player of ailing Oranje-Rood, invariably adorned with her transparent face mask, single-handedly scored six of the Eindhoven team's nine goals this season. With that number of goals, Madelief de Beer became top scorer of Oranje-Rood in the complete last season.
