No winner at Oosterplas, big won for Amsterdam
On the seventeenth round in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women, the top match between Den Bosch and SCHC failed to produce a winner. The matches at the Oosterplas ended 1-1 on Sunday. Amsterdam came out on top against Rotterdam: 8-2.
Den Bosch - SCHC 1-1
The match between the national champion and the vice-champion ended at the Oosterplas without a winner. After a scoreless first half, the match came alive after half-time. For Den Bosch, where top scorer Frédérique Matla, Rosa Fernig and Joosje Burg were missing through injury, Charlotte Englebert opened the scoring with a backhand. Seven minutes before time, Yibbi Jansen equalised from a penalty corner.
It was her 150th premier league goal for Jansen. She made 40 as an Oranje-Rood player (2016-2019) and so 110 at SCHC (since 2019-2020). It was only the second time this season that Den Bosch failed to take the full spoils. However, the Bosch formation did extend its run of unbeaten league matches to 58. SCHC is now nine games without defeat.
Amsterdam - Rotterdam 8-2
At the Wagener Stadium, spectators enjoyed a true goal-fest. Amsterdam beat Rotterdam 8-2. At half-time, it was already 5-1 for coach Teun de Nooijer's team. Fay van der Elst opened the scoring, breaking her ten-game goal drought.
Next, Fiona Morgenstern (2x), Freeke Moes (2x), Agustina Gorzelany, Renske Balemans and Marijn Veen steadily increased the score. Rotterdam scored against through Bobbi Dijk and Julie van Dam. It was Amsterdam's third win in four league matches. Rotterdam occupies tenth place in the league table after the sixth defeat in a row.
Huizen - Kampong 0-2
Kampong took the points from HUIZEN after a 0-2 victory, with both goals falling in the first quarter. Sosha Benninga opened the scoring from a penalty corner, before Guusje Moes put the final score on the board after only 13 minutes. It was her seventh goal of the season for Benninga. Remarkable: all her hits she scored in away games.
Kampong remains fifth on four points behind number four Pinoké. HUIZEN, which rebounded somewhat after the winter break with four points from three matches, is already thirteen premier league games without a win on its own pitch. In the last eight matches in front of their own public, the straggler scored only twice.
Hurley - HGC 1-1
Hurley joined number six Tilburg in points thanks to a 1-1 draw. Nevertheless, the team from Brabant remains above Hurley in the league table, having won one more match. At Amsterdam Bos, Amy Costello opened the scoring for the visitors from a penalty corner, before Michelle van der Drift provided the equaliser.
The goal scarcity was no surprise: the last five matches between them yielded just seven goals combined. With this result, Hurley remains unbeaten for the sixth match in a row, while HGC finally took another point after three consecutive defeats.
