The first part of the sixteenth round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse produced mixed results for Pinoké. The ladies were too strong for Hurley on Saturday in the Bosderby, 2-0. The men went down at the Oosterplas in a spectacle match. Home team Den Bosch was too strong, 6-3. Timo Boers scored three of the six goals. With the victory, Den Bosch remains in sight of the play-off spots.

HURLEY - PINOKÉ 0-2
The neighbourly clash in the Amsterdamse Bos turned out in Pinoké's favour. The number five side won for the fourth time in a row against Hurley and is now unbeaten in five matches. After four minutes, the Steekneuzen took the lead through Bente Jager, who prolificly scored from a penalty corner. It was her second goal of the season. The 0-2 also fell from a penalty corner, this time through Nina van der Marel, also her second of the season.

The win marked the second victory in the last three league matches for Pinoké, which is hard to beat. The team of outgoing coach Daan Sabel has only suffered one defeat in its last ten matches. For Hurley, it was the third defeat in a row and the ninth in the last 13 matches. The Forest Owls occupy ninth place in the league table.

DEN BOSCH - PINOKÉ 6-3
In the last five editions at the Oosterplas between Den Bosch and Pinoké, a total of 31 goals were scored. The crowd therefore sat up and took notice. The match ended in a spectacle with nine goals and a 6-3 victory for the home team.

After nineteen minutes, Den Bosch led 3-0 thanks to goals by Jaïr van der Horst, Tom Sorsby and Timo Boers from a penalty corner. Just like last weekend against Kampong, Pinoké went in pursuit, with success. After Miles Bukkens scored the tying goal just before half-time, Florent van Aubel made it 3-3 after the break with two goals.

Unlike that game against Kampong, Pinoké remained empty-handed this time. Two goals by Boers, both from penalty corners, and a goal by Koen Bijen made it 6-3. Thanks to his hat-trick, Boers now has eighteen goals.

The win in front of their own crowd is a boost for Den Bosch, which had been waiting for a victory for three games at the Oosterplas. Pinoké saw a seven-match unbeaten run come to an end.
