Premier League enjoys weekend full of record scores
The fifteenth round of play in the Tulp Hoofdklasse was one of extremes, in terms of results. Three clubs could credit a record with a smile, two other teams did so with a nasty aftertaste.
Monster win in Amstelveen
Rotterdam's men were ruthless in Amstelveen on Sunday afternoon. Hurley were blown off the pitch. Already at half-time, a staggering 0-8 was on the scoreboard, and after the final whistle an unprecedented 0-10 emerged. Never before had Rotterdam recorded such a monster victory on foreign soil. The previous record victory dated from 3 October 2021, when SCHC was beaten 0-8.
For Hurley, the beating was at least as historic, but in a negative sense. The club suffered its heaviest ever home defeat in the Hoofdklasse. The 0-8 against Pinoké in 2021 was already painful, but this time the low point was dragged out even further. The team is in a downward spiral anyway: the last six home matches were all lost, with the staggering goal figures of 1-32.
Pinoké strikes out
At Amsterdamse Bos on Sunday, bottom-placed Nijmegen got the full brunt of a revenge-seeking Pinoké. After a series of disappointing results, the Steekneuzen pulled out all the stops to win 8-1. That score equalled their biggest ever home win. Only in 2011 against Den Bosch (7-0) and in 2021 against Tilburg (8-1) did Pinoké manage a similar victory.

And then there are the SCHC women. Coach Gilles van Hesteren's team initially looked to be facing a difficult afternoon on a visit to tail team Huizen: after 38 minutes a modest 0-1 was on the board.
What followed was an unprecedented explosion of goals. Within 22 minutes, SCHC struck mercilessly, with a devastating last quarter as the climax: four goals in the last four minutes. It resulted in a 0-8 victory - equalling their biggest ever Hoofdklasse away win after the 0-8 at Victoria on 21 February 2021.
SCHC also scored eight goals against Huizen in the outward match of the first half of the competition, but in that match the bottom club scored two more goals themselves, ending the match in an 8-2 defeat.
