Hurley win bottom league fight, HDM-Rotterdam draw
Hurley's men can go into the winter break with a good feeling. They won the bottom league fight against SCHC 3-2 in Bilthoven on the twelfth round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse on Saturday. Rotterdam dropped points in The Hague against HDM. It finished 2-2.
SCHC - HURLEY 2-3
It is not the week of the SCHC men's side. After the points deduction for fielding a non-eligible player against Kampong, coach Jeroen Groenheijde's team lost the game against Hurley at home. Although SCHC took the lead twice, Hurley eventually drew the longest straw. The winning goal was scored for Noam Sheridan. It was not only the first victory for coach Enzo Torossi's team after nine defeats in a row, but also the first win on foreign soil after 24 matches. With the win, Hurley climbs to tenth place. The difference with bottom-placed SCHC is four points.
HDM - ROTTERDAM 2-2
As in the outward match, the fight between HDM and Rotterdam ended undecided. In Rotterdam, it was 1-1 earlier this season. In The Hague, the final score was 2-2. HDM had an excellent start and took a 2-0 lead. One of the goals was scored by Chris Taberima, his twelfth goal of the season. Rotterdam had to go in pursuit. They equalised, but thus failed to take home three points. The Rotterdammers are unbeaten for six matches though. In the battle for the play-offs, coach Erik van Driel's team missed out on important points. HDM, despite the draw, now feels the hot breath of Hurley, which is close to two points.
