Frédérique Matla grabs top scorer title with 22 goals
The top scorer title in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women has fallen to Frédérique Matla for the fifth time in history. The Den Bosch striker accounted for 22 goals this season.
On the last playing round of the regular league, Frédérique Matla was not in action against Tilburg due to a slight muscle injury. Her direct competitor Yibbi Jansen (21 goals) was on the pitch, but failed to score against HDM. The World Player of the Year even missed a penalty stroke in the final home match, which was won 2-1.
With 22 goals, Matla can call herself the most prolific player of a premier league season for the fifth time in her career. The Den Bosch striker needed only 18 games to do so. Matla also accounted for nine assists this season, the most of any player.

Yibbi Jansen did become the player with the most goals from penalty corners this season: she shot eighteen times from head of circle. Her teammate Maud van den Heuvel can call herself the player with the most field goals. The young attacker scored twelve times from field goals, one more than the still injured Jip Dicke, who also plays for SCHC.
