Ramon Min|23.11.2024
Also in the men's side, the final round of 2024 play is upon us, including the relegation fight between SCHC and Hurley. Read the six previews here.
SCHC - HURLEY
- On their own pitch, SCHC lost only two of the 10 encounters with Hurley in the Hoofdklasse (W6 G2). Hurley last won in Bilthoven on 25 September 2015: 2-4.
- SCHC picked up six points in 11 matches this season (W1 G3 V7), two more than Hurley and one more than Nijmegen. Yet the team from Bilthoven is at the bottom of the league table.
- This is due to the penalty of three points deduction imposed on SCHC by the KNHB's match committee for fielding a non-eligible player in the previous league match against Kampong (1-2 home defeat).
- Hurley is without a win for 24 away matches in a row. The team picked up only one point in that series (in the match with KZ).
- Hurley striker Indra Aerts (main photo) is single-handedly responsible for half of all his team's goals this season (six out of 12).
HDM - ROTTERDAM
- Rotterdam remained unbeaten in its last eight matches against HDM: W W D W W W D.
- Rotterdam's last defeat against HDM dates from 17 October 2010, when it was 5-4 to the home team in The Hague. Among others, Kenny Bain (two goals) and Robin de Munk (the winning goal in the last minute) then scored for the Hague side.
- HDM won only one of its last eight matches in the Hoofdklasse (D1 L6). That was the home match against Nijmegen on 26 October (3-1).
- Rotterdam only conceded three goals in its last four matches (2-2 Nijmegen and 4-1 SCHC) and kept the nil in that series twice.
- Jeroen Hertzberger was directly involved in seventeen goals for Rotterdam this season. He scored ten himself and assisted six goals. With those six assists, the 38-year-old striker currently leads the shadow shooters' classification.
PINOKÉ - DEN BOSCH
- Den Bosch remained unbeaten in its last four matches with Pinoké (W3 D1). Before that, the Brabanders were unable to win three consecutive games against the Steekneuzen (D1 L2).
- The last six matches between Den Bosch and Pinoké in the Hoofdklasse accounted for 47 goals, an average of 6.7 goals per game.
- Den Bosch suffered its first defeat of the season (2-1) at Amsterdam last weekend. Before that, the team had won eight times and drawn twice.
- Pinoké lost three of its last four matches and, in between, won by a large margin at Hurley (0-7, with five goals from striker Miles Bukkens).
- The attacking duo Miles Bukkens-Boris Aardenburg accounted for 78 per cent of the total Pinoké production this season (21 out of 27 goals).
KLEIN ZWITSERLAND - KAMPONG
- In recent years, however, KLEIN ZWITSERLAND has struggled to win on home turf against Kampong: D L L W L D. That one home win dates back to 17 October 2021, when it was 2-1.
- KZ lost three of its five most recent home games (W2), failing to score twice in the process and scoring only five goals in total.
- Kampong lost only one of its last 10 away games in the Hoofdklasse (W7 D2). That happened on a visit to Oranje-Rood on 29 September (3-2).
- Klein Zwitserland is Jip Janssen's favourite opponent in the Hoofdklasse. The Kampong defender already scored 16 goals against the team from The Hague. HGC and Den Bosch follow with 14 and 12 goals respectively.
- Midfielder Derck de Vilder accounted for four assists in his last two games for Kampong: he gave three in the home game with Hurley (8-0) and one on visit to SCHC (1-2 win).
NIJMEGEN - BLOEMENDAAL
- Bloemendaal won the outward match from the first half of the competition 3-0 through goals by Marc Miralles, Zach Wallace and Casper van der Veen.
- Nijmegen recorded its first win in the Hoofdklasse since 2 May 1976 (1-0 against Tilburg) last weekend against Hurley (4-1).
- Leaders Bloemendaal are the only team not to have lost a game this season. After ten games, there are nine wins and one draw (2-2 at Den Bosch) on the balance sheet.
- Bloemendaal has been unbeaten in the regular league for 24 matches in a row (W21 D3) and won 21 of its last 23 matches (D1).
- Spaniard Marc Miralles is on 14 goals for Bloemendaal after 10 matches (and 11 rounds of play). Belgian striker Tom Boon was the last player for The Mussen in season 2014-2015 to score at least as many goals after the first 11 rounds of play (15).
ORANGE-RED - AMSTERDAM
- Amsterdam's 7-1 win over Oranje-Rood in the outward match of the first half of the competition marked the biggest ever defeat in the Hoofdklasse for the Eindhoveners.
- Only twice in eight away duels with Oranje-Rood could Amsterdam step back home with three points (D2 L4). They managed to do so on 17 September 2017 (3-4) and on 26 September 2021 (2-4).
- Last season, Orange-Rood won nine of its first 11 games (D1 L1). This season, the number of wins only stands at four (D4 L3).
- Of all play-off contenders, Oranje-Rood has scored the most goals so far: 29 in 11 games.
- Amsterdam is the most prolific team in the Hoofdklasse with 42 goals.
