Koen Meijerink (NIjmegen) third recruit for Kampong
Kampong has secured the services of Koen Meijerink for next season. The Utrecht club takes over the 17-year-old youth international from Nijmegen.
Despite his young age, Meijerink is a regular in the Nijmegen main squad this season. Nijmegen are currently bottom of the Tulp Hoofdklasse. Until two years ago, Meijerink played hockey with Union from Malden. The defender is currently part of Oranje Under 18.
'I am extremely happy with the opportunity to play for Kampong,' says Meijerink. 'It is a top club with many ambitions and a clear vision for the future. At Nijmegen I learnt a lot in recent seasons, but I feel this is the perfect moment to develop myself further.'
Earlier, Kampong announced the arrival of Spanish goalkeeper Luis Calzado (Real Club de Pol) and Thies Bakker (Schaerweijde) for next season.
