Laren stunts with win over B'daal, A'dam new leader
Laren's men caused a big stunt by beating Bloemendaal on the eighth round of the competition. They won 3-2 at home. This was Laren's first win of the season. The top match between Amsterdam and Pinoké ended in favour of the home team. It was 1-0, meaning the Dutch champion took over the lead in the Tulp Hoofdklasse from their neighbours from the Amsterdamse Bos. De Bosch won comfortably against Schaerweijde (9-0) and goals remained out in Eindhoven at Oranje-Rood-Rotterdam.
Laren - Bloemendaal 3-2
The surprise of the day took place in 't Gooi. At home, Laren stunted by beating Bloemendaal 3-2. It is the first win of the season for the home team and only the second win in the last 18 premier league games.
Berend van Langeveld put Laren ahead early in the match. After half-time, Jorrit Croon equalised for Bloemendaal, but Teun van Uunen brought Laren back into the lead via a penalty corner. When Bloemendaal swapped goalkeeper Maurits Visser for an extra fielder, Diederick van Berckel took advantage by tapping the ball into the empty goal. Teun Beins still scored from a penalty corner for Bloemendaal, but it was too late.
For Bloemendaal, it is the fourth defeat in seven away games. The last defeat in Laren dated from 30 October 2009, when they lost 4-3.
Amsterdam - Pinoké 1-0
Amsterdam proved the strongest in the Bosderby against Pinoké. It finished 1-0. The home team thus remains unbeaten at home this season with four wins from four matches.
After a scoreless first half, Boris Burkhardt decided the game in the third quarter with his thirteenth goal of the season after a brilliant diagonal pass from Floris Middendorp. The same Middendorp was close to scoring 2-0, but his backhand went just wide after he outplayed four Pinoké players.
With this defeat, Pinoké loses its unbeaten status in the league. It was only the third defeat in the last 16 matches for the Behemoths. Amsterdam took full advantage of the win over its closest competitor and the points loss by Oranje-Rood. The national champion takes over the lead, while Pinoké drops from first to third place in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
Oranje-Rood - Rotterdam 0-0
Oranje-Rood failed to crown its hundredth home game in the Tulp Hoofdklasse with three points. The match with Rotterdam remained without goals. And that was remarkable, as the last three meetings between these teams accounted for no less than 24 goals, an average of eight per game.
With the point, Oranje-Rood maintains its unbeaten status. In front of its own public, the team is already 11 games without defeat, but has already lost eight points in the last five home matches. The Eindhoven formation remains second on the league table, one point off new leaders Amsterdam. Rotterdam is fourth, but has played one match less than the competition.
Den Bosch - Schaerweijde 9-0
At the Oosterplas the goals fell from the sky like autumn leaves. The formation from Den Bosch beat Schaerweijde 9-0, with Timo Boers excelling with four goals.
Den Bosch already had a comfortable 4-0 lead at half-time. Jaïr van der Horst opened the scoring after only seven minutes, after which Max Pastoor made it 2-0. Boers made it 4-0 at halftime with two penalty corners, with his first hit marking his 50th penalty corner goal in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. After half-time, Den Bosch ran out further through Max Kreft, Boers again, Van der Horst with his second, Koen Bijen and, as the final chord, Boers again.
Den Bosch thus won its ninth consecutive meeting with Schaerweijde and has been unbeaten on its own pitch for 16 matches. For the visitors, it was the 23rd defeat in 27 away games in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
Kampong - Hurley 2-1
Kampong had their hands full with last placed Hurley at the home Klapperboom. The home team won 2-1 thanks to two goals from Terrance Pieters.
Pieters provided a spectacular opening goal just before half-time by sprinting towards the Hurley goal from his own half and firing in the 1-0. After the break, Laurens Nievelstein equalised for the visitors with a fine strike. The tie did not last long, however, as Pieters scored the 2-1 eight minutes later. The penalty corner initially went awry, but Jens de Vuijst kept the overview and served corner keeper Pieters.
With this victory, Kampong ends a series of two home games without a win. Hurley remains bottom with zero points from eight games and has now been waiting for a win in the Tulp Hoofdklasse for eighteen league matches.
