Luna Fokke thunders into Kampong's perennial top ten
In the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women last weekend, there was another Kampong player who drew attention with her goals. Midfielder Luna Fokke distinguished herself with her first hat-trick in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
Fokke accounted for half of the Kampong production Sunday in the away game against Rotterdam. The Utrechters won 6-0, registering their third-highest away win ever in the Hoofdklasse.
With her first Hoofdklasse hat-trick, Fokke now has eight goals and is the most reliable player of coach Kai de Jager's team this season, producing three of the last four Hoofdklasse hat-tricks. In recent weeks, Sosha Benninga and Bente van der Veldt have also scored three times in one game.
Personal record in sight
With eight goals after 12 games, Fokke has already almost matched her record production from the complete previous season. In the memorable 2023-2024 - in which Kampong qualified for the playoffs again after a long time - the Dutch national came to nine goals. That made her the team's club top scorer together with Sosha Benninga.

Fokke still has four players above him on the top scorer list. Den Bosch attacker Frédérique Matla still leads the list with thirteen goals.

Fokke is in her sixth season in Kampong's first. There are already 34 premier league goals behind her name in service to the Utrecht club. With that number she has entered the perennial top ten of the Utrecht squad. This has been led since 1998 by former center striker Ellen Dubbeldam-Kuipers (82 goals).
