Amsterdam past combative Den Bosch via late goal
Sat 17 May 18:00
Men 3 - 2

Amsterdam won the first semi-final match with Den Bosch in a thrilling match: 3-2. The home team drew the longest end thanks to a late goal by Brent van Bijnen.
Coach Rick Mathijssen's team took a 2-0 lead even before half-time through attackers Boris Burkhardt (penalty stroke) and Brent van Bijnen (backhand). After the break, Den Bosch, second in the regular league, came back strongly. Timo Boers used a penalty stroke - his 44th official goal of the season - and Jasper Tukkers equalised on the counter: 2-2.
In the final quarter, the game undulated up and down, with chances on both sides. In the end, it was Amsterdam that struck from a rebound after a penalty corner. Again Brent van Bijnen gave the ball the final push, after it was pushed towards goal by Robbert Kemperman in the rebound.
Both teams continue their hunt for the first national title in more than a decade on Sunday at the Oosterplas in Den Bosch (18:00).
