Matla and Jansen take distance at head of top scorers' list
The six matches of the fifteenth round in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women produced thirty goals. No less than eight of those came off the stick of goalgetters Frédérique Matla (Den Bosch) and Yibbi Jansen (SCHC).
Matla made four goals in the 6-1 win over HGC and passed the 250 official goal mark for Den Bosch. The tally for her now stands at 252 goals. In Den Bosch history, only Mijntje Donners (348) and Maartje Paumen (474) scored more goals in the main squad than Matla.
Jansen also registered four goals. The penalty corner giant helped SCHC to a record victory at bottom-placed Huizen (0-8), the biggest major league victory on foreign soil for the team from Bilthoven. Jansen now stands at 15 goals this season, three less than table leader Matla.
Four goals in one game equalled a personal record for Jansen. On 29 October 2023, she already scored four in the away match against her old club ORANJE-ROOD (0-6). The midfielder now has 11 Hoofdklasse hat-tricks (three goals or more) to her name. Remarkably, the last five hat-tricks all came in away games.
