Miles Bukkens on target, eight goals Kampong against Nijmegen
The first two matches of the tenth round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men produced a total of 15 goals. Dutch champion Kampong had no problem with bottom-placed Nijmegen. The score was 8-0. But it was mainly Miles Bukkens' night on Saturday. The Pinoké striker scored five goals in the Bosderby.
HURLEY - PINOKÉ 0-7
After two defeats in a row, the Bosderby proved to be the medicine for Pinoké. The Steekneuzen won by as much as 7-0 against neighbours Hurley. The star on this cold evening was Miles Bukkens. The striker scored five goals: three field goals, a penalty corner goal and a penalty ball. It was the first time Bukkens scored five goals in one game in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. It brought his season total to 14 goals, a personal record. In the 2022-2023 season, Bukkens reached 12 goals.
The other goals were scored by Boris Aardenburg and Florent van Aubel. For Aardenburg, it was his fifth goal of the season. Never before has he scored that number of goals in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. The 7-0 meant a pitch-black night for Hurley that saw its eighth defeat in a row.
KAMPONG - NIJMEGEN 8-0
Never before has Kampong lost a match to Nijmegen. The ninth meeting, the first since the 1976-1977 season, was another victory for the Utrechters. A resounding one, as it was no less than 8-0 at the Klapperboom. Jip Janssen was one of a goal scorers. It was already the 12th goal of the penalty corner specialist. For Kampong, it was the second win in a row and coach Tim Oudenaller's team hopes to put an end to its shaky performance. Nijmegen remains the only team in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men without a win. Coach Rob Haantjes' team has been looking for a win on the highest level for 32 matches. On foreign soil in Nijmegen already 24 games in a row without a win.
