New season schedule HK: men's Amsterdam open season against Hurley
The KNHB has announced the schedule for the 2025-2026 season in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. In the men, the season will be opened by national champions Amsterdam, who play the Bos derby against Hurley on Saturday 13 September at 16.30 hrs. In the women's competition, Amsterdam and Hurley face each other on that day from 18.45hrs.
Women's national champion Den Bosch begin their title defence on Sunday 14 September with an away game against Tilburg, while for title rival SCHC a home game against HDM is on the menu.
For promoted Bloemendaal, last season champion of the Promotieklasse, the new Hoofdklasse adventure starts on 14 September with a home appearance against Pinoké, which made it to the playoffs for the first time last season. Kampong, ranked number five in the regular league last season, takes on Oranje-Rood on the first round in Eindhoven.
In the women's side, the first traditional cracker is on the menu right away on the second round of play, when Den Bosch takes on Amsterdam at the Oosterplas. SCHC-Den Bosch is scheduled for the fifth round and SCHC-Amsterdam for the ninth round.
Tulp Hoofdklasse Men
So in the men's side, national champions Amsterdam start the new season with a home game against Hurley. Vice-champion Kampong visits promoted Laren a day later, while the other promoted Schaerweijde starts the new season at Klein Zwitserland.
More matches on Sunday
The league schedule shows that ten of the 12 matches of one round in the men's and women's competition will be played on Sunday next season. Also, the women will play a fixed 12.45pm and the men at 3pm. That time is new: last season, most Sunday matches in the men's side started at 14:45.
Next season, the men have two midweek rounds scheduled: on Thursday 18 September (round five) and Thursday 30 October (round 9). For the women, there is only one midweek round of play: it is scheduled for Thursday 25 September (round 3).
