Unleashed SCHC on course for new goal record
SCHC's women are well underway this season. With 60 goals after 15 games, the team is on course for a new goalscoring record.
SCHC displayed its scoring power once again last weekend with a monster win at Huizen (0-8), equalling the biggest away win in club history. With seven games to go in the regular league, coach Gilles van Hesteren's team is heading for a new club record.
In the 2015-2016 and 2022-2023 seasons, SCHC finished on 75 goals after 22 games, still the highest production in a single season. So currently, the team is only 15 goals away from that tally. It looks like that club record is about to be broken.
An average of four goals per match
SCHC's current goal average - exactly four goals per match - is the highest ever compared to the club's 21 previous seasons in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. Yibbi Jansen (15 goals), Jip Dicke (13) and Maud van den Heuvel (nine) made the biggest individual contribution to that cartload of goals.
However impressive SCHC's production this season is, it is unlikely to produce a new premier league record. That is still in the hands of Den Bosch, the only team ever to surpass 100 goals (103) in the 2003-2004 season.
