Oranje-Rood to play-offs, Pinoké beats Amsterdam
The men's team of Oranje-Rood became the first team to qualify for the play-offs for the national title. The unbeaten leader in the Tulp Hoofdklasse beat Rotterdam 4-1 on Sunday. In the Amsterdamse Bos, Pinoké was too strong for Amsterdam 2-1 in the other top match. As a result, Amsterdam dropped from third to fourth place and is only one point ahead of number five Den Bosch, which won 8-1 against Schaerweijde.
Rotterdam - Oranje-Rood 1-4
Oranje-Rood secured participation in the play-offs after a 4-1 win over number two Rotterdam. Scotland's top scorer in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, Struan Walker, scored twice. With that, he now stands at 26 goals and has broken Mink van der Weerden's club record. In the 2017-2018 season, Van der Weerden scored 24 goals. Thanks to the win, Oranje-Rood is now unbeaten 22 games in a row. In away games, the series has risen to 11 games without defeat. Rotterdam saw its run of six wins in a row come to an end with the loss. Moreover, Rotterdam suffered its first defeat against Oranje-Rood since 29 October 2023, when it lost 6-3 in Eindhoven.
Pinoké - Amsterdam 2-1
In the battle for tickets to the play-offs, Pinoké did good business. Neighbouring Amsterdam was beaten 2-1. As a result, Pinoké passed the national champion on the league table and is the new number three. Belgian Florent van Aubel scored the decisive goal for the Behemoths five minutes before time. It was Pinoké's first win on their own pitch over Amsterdam since 15 March 2024. For Amsterdam, it ended a run of eight league games without defeat, marking the national champion's first defeat since 2 November last year. Amsterdam sees pursuer and number five Den Bosch close to one point, with three games to go. Pinoké is two points ahead of the Bossche formation.
Schaerweijde - Den Bosch 1-8
After the 9-0 win in the previous match, Den Bosch was also far too strong in the second encounter. Thanks in part to four goals by Timo Boers, who raised his season total to 24, and a hat-trick by Koen Bijen, the match went 1-8 in the Zeister Kuil. Incidentally, Boers scored a total of eight goals in both encounters. It was Den Bosch's seventh consecutive away win and the team is now eight games unbeaten on foreign soil. Although Den Bosch remains in fifth place, the gap to new number four Amsterdam has shrunk to just one point. Schaerweijde suffered another defeat after four home matches, the fourth in the last nine league games. The team remains tenth, one point behind the safe ninth place, which is held by HDM.
Klein Zwitserland - HDM 1-0
The fiftieth edition of the Hague derby between Klein Zwitserland and HDM was a triumph for the home team. The only goal fell after only five minutes and was scored by Lucas Toscani. Thanks to the victory, Klein Zwitserland is assured of playing at the highest level next season as well. HDM, on the other hand, will have to pull out all the stops to maintain its direct position. The team suffered its ninth defeat in the last eleven matches and third in a row. Moreover, HDM is already four matches without a win. The Hague formation is still in a safe ninth place, but the lead over number ten Schaerweijde is only one point.
Hurley - Kampong 1-4
Striker Hurley were unable to follow up last week's victory over HDM (2-1). Against European club champion Kampong, the Bosuilen suffered a 4-1 defeat. Hurley did score 1-1 through Fred Newbold, after Derck de Vilder had opened the scoring, but the Utrecht formation still took home the three points thanks to goals by Jonas de Geus, Caspar Dobbelaar and Finn van Bijnen. On its own pitch, Hurley has been waiting twenty matches for a win in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. In the last three home matches, the team gave up as many as eighteen goals. Kampong recorded only their third win in nine away games.
