On the seventh round of the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men, Oranje-Rood recorded a 4-3 victory over Bloemendaal at 't Kopje. Coach Ageeth Boomgaardt's team fought back from a 2-0 deficit on Saturday. Earlier in the day, the Bloemendaal ladies were successful. They won 4-1 at home against Tilburg.

Bloemendaal - Oranje-Rood 3-4
Partly thanks to a hat-trick by Scottish marksman Struan Walker, Oranje-Rood took the three points from Bloemendaal. With the victory at 't Kopje, the Eindhoven team ended a series of three matches in which they drew. It was the tenth consecutive league game without defeat for Oranje-Rood, equalling the 2023-2024 club record.

Bloemendaal started the matches excellently. In the eighteenth minute, Arno van Dessel opened the scoring with his first goal of the season. Barely two minutes later it was another hit, when Zach Wallace fired in the 2-0. For him too, it was his first goal of the season. The home team seemed to be on a roll, but Bob de Voogd, who scored his 96th goal in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, brought Oranje-Rood back into the game before half-time: 2-1.

After the break, a turnaround occurred that hurt Bloemendaal. Walker equalised in the third quarter and scored two more goals in the final quarter for a 2-4 lead for Oranje-Rood. The Scot now stands at 11 goals. Floris Wortelboer made it 3-4, but that was all for Bloemendaal, which was also eliminated in the EHL eighth finals last week.

The loss marked the first home defeat against Oranje-Rood ever for The Mussen, who also saw a run of fifteen unbeaten matches against the Eindhoven outfit come to an end.

Bloemendaal - Tilburg 4-1
Bloemendaal finally won a home match again by beating Tilburg 4-1 at 't Kopje. With this win, the home team ended a run of ten matches without a win in front of their own crowd.

Ankelein Baardemans opened the scoring early on and was the standout with two goals. Bloemendaal extended the lead after half-time through Demi Hilterman, who scored her fourth goal of the season from a penalty corner, and Julie Hoogendoorn. Daphne Nikkels did something back for Tilburg in the closing stages with her third goal of the season.

For Bloemendaal, this means the third win of the season and a welcome turnaround after two matches in which only one point was scored. Tilburg, which had previously won two games in a row, suffered its fifth defeat of the league.
