Victories for Oranje-Rood and Den Bosch
The second half of the competition in the Tulp Hoofdklasse has resumed. In Eindhoven on Saturday, Oranje-Rood's ladies beat HDM 2-1, while Den Bosch's men easily handled the home team in Laren: 6-0.
Oranje-Rood - HDM 2-1
Striker Oranje-Rood recorded its second win of the season and surrendered last place to Tilburg for at least a day. Madelief de Beer became the matchwinner on the Eindhoven side by scoring both goals. She opened the scoring as early as the first minute and doubled the margin in the 16th minute from the penalty spot. Just before time, HDM, playing its 800th premier league game, reduced the deficit through a racy penalty corner by Tessa Clasener. The equaliser then failed to materialise, giving HDM its fourth consecutive league defeat.
Laren - Den Bosch 0-6
Den Bosch got off to a fine start after the proverbial winter break. Coach Nanco Jansonius' team won convincingly against Laren: 0-6. With three goals, Thierry Brinkman crowned himself man of the match. It was his first hat-trick of the season. The other goals came from Koen Bijen, Eduard de Ignacio-Simó and Timo Boers. For Boers, it was his 100th official goal on behalf of Den Bosch. With the victory, Den Bosch ended a two match winless streak. Laren suffered its fourth defeat in the last five league games.
