Historical day for Pinoké: record number of wins in a single season
Pinoké's women made history on Saturday. The Steekneuzen won their home match against Huizen 4-2, setting a club record.
The victory over Huizen was Pinoké's eleventh win this season, in eighteen games. Never before in premier league history had the team managed to win more than ten games in one season. Last season and in season 2020-2021, Pinoké reached ten wins.
Club records Imke Verstraeten
There was more news from the statistics front. Imke Verstraeten accounted for three of the four goals against Huizen. That marked the defender's second hat-trick this season. A unique feat, as in club history no other player managed to produce two hat-tricks in one season.
Verstraeten, who will make the switch to Amsterdam next season, lifted her goal tally in this season to 11 hits. That too was reason for a note in the history books. With that number, she equalled the goal record of Pinoké player Nicci de Haas, who became club top scorer with eleven goals in the 2005-2006 season.
Another record in sight
Pinoké can improve another club record this season: the goal counter stands at 44 after eighteen rounds of play. That is already almost as many as the record production of 2023-2024, when the Steekneuzen scored 46 times in 22 matches.
