Play-off spots have already been decided in women's league
With four match rounds to go, the battle for the play-off places in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women is already decided. SCHC, Kampong, Amsterdam and Den Bosch are assured of participation in the play-offs for the national title. Only the final order is still open.
That the top four is already fixed is because of the points difference between Den Bosch and number five Pinoké. Den Bosch is on 38 points, Pinoké on 24. With four games to play, Pinoké can only reach a maximum of 36 points, making the gap unbridgeable.
SCHC, Kampong, Amsterdam and Den Bosch thus make up the quartet that qualifies for the playoffs for the second time together. Earlier, this happened in the 2023-2024 season. Back then, the order was different: Den Bosch finished first, followed by Amsterdam, SCHC and Kampong.
For Den Bosch, Amsterdam and SCHC, a place in the top four has been almost a given for years. Den Bosch has qualified for the playoffs for the 28th time in a row, Amsterdam for the 23rd consecutive time and SCHC for the 15th time in a row. For its part, Kampong is once again showing it has firmly established itself in the national top match.
Battle for pecking order
The battle for tickets may be over, but the battle for the best starting position is by no means. SCHC leads with 46 points, followed by Kampong (42), Amsterdam (39) and Den Bosch (38). That final ranking determines the semi-finals, where the numbers 1 and 4 meet and the numbers 2 and 3 face each other. The numbers 1 and 2 also have the advantage of a home game in the return.
With top matches like Amsterdam-SCHC on 26 April and Den Bosch-Kampong on 2 May, the order in the top four could be turned upside down in the coming weeks. The play-off battle has been decided, but the route to the national title is still completely open.
