AMSTERDAM - DEN BOSCH
Saturday, 18:00
- Both teams faced each other last week in the final round of the regular league. At the Oosterplas, Den Bosch drew the longest: 3-0, through goals by Timo Boers, Jaïr van der Horst and Thomas Sorsby.
- Earlier this season, Den Bosch lost 2-1 in the league at the Wagener Stadium. That defeat then ended a run of 10 consecutive games without a loss against the Amsterdammers (W7 D3) for the Brabanders.
- After Bloemendaal, Amsterdam is the most experienced team in play-off history. The club from the capital is entering the nacompetition for the 20th time in history.
- Of the nineteen previous seasons with play-offs, Amsterdam reached the final thirteen times, which it won six times: in 1995, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2011 and 2012.
- Den Bosch will participate in the play-offs for the fifth time in club history, after the 1996-1997 (losing finalist), 1997-98 (national champion), 2000-2001 (national champion) and 2020-2021 (semi-finalist) seasons.
- In 2020-2021, Den Bosch was last in the play-offs. The Brabanders then lost in the semi-finals to Bloemendaal rather hopelessly: 1-5 at the Oosterplas and 3-0 at 't Kopje.
- Amsterdam won only one of its last five games (D2 L2): a 1-8 at lowly Hurley.
- Den Bosch defender Timo Boers crowned himself Hoofdklasse top scorer for the first time last weekend with 28 goals, one more than Amsterdam attacker Boris Burkhardt. Including his 15 goals in the cup tournament, Boers has already scored 43 goals in club this season, the most of any player.
