Productive Den Bosch set new club record with 76 goals
Last weekend, Den Bosch's men broke a club record that stood for more than two decades. With 76 goals, coach Nanco Jansonius' team is experiencing the most productive season in history.
Den Bosch won 5-1 against bottom-placed Hurley on their own pitch on Sunday. That was already the sixth game this season in which the Boschians produced at least five goals. This brought their goal tally to 76 goals, a new club record.
The previous record dated back to the 2001-2002 season, when the counter ended at 74 goals after 22 matches. Back then, Matthijs Brouwer (seventeen goals), Dennis Dijkshoorn (fourteen), Jeroen Delmée and Rob Derikx (ten each) were the most important goal scorers for the Bossche team, which finished the league in fifth place.
Also this season, four Den Bosch players reached double figures - something that happened in club history only in the 2001-2002 season. Starcorner specialist Timo Boers leads the way with 27 goals, followed by Koen Bijen (13), Thierry Brinkman and Max Kreft (10 each).
Next Sunday, Den Bosch awaits an away game at Kampong, followed by a home game with Hurley on the final round. The question is how far Den Bosch can add to the club record.
