Rotterdam alongside HGC at last minute, milestone for Matla
The twelfth and final round of matches in the Tulp Hoofdklasse Women before the winter break was a cold and very wet affair. The matches had already been moved from 12.45pm to 2.45pm on Saturday due to the expected bad weather conditions. On Sunday afternoon, Kampong-Orange-Rood was called off. The Pinoké-Bloemendaal match did not start until 3pm after the final inspection.
Despite the harsh weather conditions, there was plenty of scoring. The five matches yielded thirty goals. The most goals fell at Den Bosch-Tilburg, as many as 11. Frédérique Matla scored twice and is the eighth player in the Tulp Hoofdklasse to have scored at least two hundred goals. Unbeaten frontrunner SCHC showed no mercy to HDM 6-1 in The Hague. Amsterdam was the strongest in the Bosderby with Hurley (1-3). Rotterdam and Pinoké took a point at the last minute against HGC and Bloemendaal respectively.
Den Bosch - Tilburg 9-2
On the last matchday before the winter break, Den Bosch's ladies shook off the chagrin of what was, by Bossche standards, a lesser first half of the competition. Victim of the national champion's drive was Tilburg. Coach Matias Vila's team did score 1-1 through Sanne Koks after Sanne Koolen's opening goal, but after that Den Bosch quickly ended the tension in the Brabant derby. The counter stopped at 9-2. It was the first time this season that Den Bosch scored at least five goals in a match. Moreover, it was the fifth win at home for Huizen. Tilburg, on the other hand, suffered its sixth defeat in a row. There was personal success for Frédérique Matla. The Den Bosch player reached a wonderful milestone. Matla scored her 200th and 201st goal in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. This makes her the eighth player in big league history with at least two hundred goals to her name.
HDM - SCHC 1-6
SCHC ended the first half of the competition as frontrunners after a convincing 6-1 victory over HDM in The Hague. The visitors were supreme and thus remain unbeaten for 26 premier league games in a row. Early in the match, SCHC took the initiative with goals from Elzemiek Zandee and Jip Dicke. HDM found the connection through Yara Akkerman, who scored via the stick of SCHC player Renée van Laarhoven. SCHC quickly shifted gears with two hit penalty corners by Yibbi Jansen, bringing the half-time score to 1-4. After half-time, SCHC ran out further through goals by Maud van den Heuvel and again Jip Dicke. For Jansen, her two goals mean she now stands at ten goals this season, while Dicke brings her total to 12. HDM suffered its second defeat in a row, while SCHC closes 2025 as winter champions.
Rotterdam - HGC 2-2
The fiftieth meeting between Rotterdam and HGC did not produce a winner. At the Schouten Zekerheid Stadium it was 2-2. HGC took the lead twice, but Rotterdam fought back both times. In the closing stages, Myrthe van Kesteren gave the home team a point with a tightly executed penalty corner. Jip Blaas (HGC) and Kirsten Zennemers (Rotterdam) both scored their first goals of the season. For Rotterdam, this result marks the fifth home game in a row without defeat. HGC continues to struggle with form. Seven games without a win and the team closes the first half of the competition without an away win.
Hurley - Amsterdam 1-3
In the Bosderby, Amsterdam proved too strong for Hurley's neighbours. The visitors won 3-1. At half-time, Amsterdam was already leading 3-0 thanks to goals by Katerina Langedijk, Freeke Moes and Felice Albers. Moes now stands at 47 premier league goals for Amsterdam. After half-time, Hurley did something back. Romée Corver tipped in a penalty corner. It remained just that one goal for Hurley. With the win, Amsterdam extended its unbeaten run to seven matches, while Hurley suffered its sixth defeat in the last ten league matches.
Pinoké - Bloemendaal 2-2
Pinoké avoided defeat against Bloemendaal (2-2) at home. Lana Kalse gave the home team a point with her eighth goal of the season. The match, which started at 15:00 after the pitch was approved at 14:15, got off to a flying start for Bloemendaal. As early as the first minute, Ankelein Baardemans put the visitors ahead. Pinoké equalised through a penalty corner by Elin van Erk. After the break, Bloemendaal took the lead again through Julie Hoogendoorn, but Kalse made sure of the 2-2 final score four minutes later. Pinoké thus remains unbeaten for the sixth game in a row and is strong on home turf with 11 points from seven matches. For Bloemendaal, things look different. The team was unable to record a win for the fifth time in a row.
Kampong - ORANJE-ROOD
Due to poor weather conditions, the matches at the Klapperboom were disallowed.
