Schaerweijde beats Hurley, Oranje-Rood-Pinoké undecided
In the Amsterdamse Bos, Schaerweijde's men won the cracker at the bottom of the league table against Hurley: 2-3. It was not only the first win for Schaerweijde, but also the first points of the season. Hurley remain scoreless stragglers in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. The top match between Oranje-Rood and Pinoké ended undecided. It finished 2-2 in Eindhoven. Laren took its first point of the season after 2-2 against Klein Zwitserland and in The Hague, Amsterdam beat HDM 2-1.
Kampong and Bloemendaal were not in action in the Tulp Hoofdklasse due to EHL commitments. As a result, Rotterdam and Den Bosch also enjoyed a free weekend of play.
Hurley - Schaerweijde 2-3
With three wins from the last four meetings, Hurley could look forward to the clash at the bottom of the league table against Schaerweijde with confidence. The team from the Amsterdamse Bos took the lead twice on Sunday, but two goals in three minutes in the closing stages of the match ensured the visitors took home the three points. The winning goal came courtesy of Daan Troost. It was Schaerweijde's first win in the Tulp Hoofdklasse since 19 November 2023 (the 0-1 at Rotterdam). After that, coach Razwan Ahmed's team remained sixteen matches in a row without a win. The win moved Schaerweijde up to tenth place. Hurley remains the pointless straggler. The team has been waiting sixteen matches for a three-point victory at the highest level.
Oranje-Rood - Pinoké 2-2
In Eindhoven, the top match between Oranje-Rood and Pinoké had no winner. The home team built up a 2-0 lead through Struan Walker, but ultimately failed to secure victory. With two goals, Joep Troost ensured a draw. Although Oranje-Rood is already nine games unbeaten in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, the team did lose six points in the last three games. Pinoké is also still without defeat this season. The point draw had no effect on the league table. Pinoké remains fourth just ahead of Oranje-Rood.
HDM - Amsterdam 1-2
Thanks to two goals by Mirco Pruyser, Amsterdam took home the victory. The reigning national champion is still without defeat after six matches and took over the lead from Rotterdam, which was not in action this weekend. The win, by the way, did end a run of three away games in which Amsterdam did not record a victory. HDM suffered another defeat after two wins in a row. It was already the tenth loss in the last fourteen premier league games. Moreover, for the fifteenth time in a row, HDM was left empty-handed after a confrontation with one of the top teams in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
Laren - Klein Zwitserland 2-2
Like Schaerweijde, Laren also moved away from the hatchet zero. At home, the team took its first point of the season by playing 2-2 to Klein Zwitserland. Three minutes before time, Chad Futcher prevented Laren's first win at the highest level since 5 May 2024. Despite the first point, Laren dropped from tenth to eleventh place as Schaerweijde took the full spoils against Hurley. Klein Zwitserland played to a draw for the fourth time in a row. That happened earlier in 1997 and that is also the longest series of draws by Klein Zwitserland at the highest level. With ten points from six matches and still unbeaten, the Hague formation is in sixth place.
