SCHC on the brink of a historic goalscoring record

SCHC will face Oranje-Rood in Eindhoven this Sunday, and that match has more in store than an ordinary league match. The league leaders are on the verge of equalling a historic record.

SCHC scored at least once in their last 60 away games in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. That streak began on 11 October 2020, with a 2-2 draw at Amsterdam. Since then, SCHC never returned on foreign soil with a blank goal sheet - not against title favourites, not against teams in relegation trouble, and not against anyone else.

The record is currently in the hands of Den Bosch: they scored in 61 consecutive away games between 21 October 2007 and 17 March 2013. That scoring streak started with a 3-5 win at Nijmegen and ended with a 0-1 at Kampong. If SCHC scores a goal in Eindhoven this weekend, the tally will be 61 - equalling that record.

SCHC will not lack motivation. Coach Robbert van de Peppel's team is already 31 league games unbeaten this season and scored a total of 196 goals in the current series of sixty away games - an average of over three goals per away game.

The Oranje-Rood - SCHC match starts Sunday 12 April at 12:45pm.
