SCHC comfortably past Den Bosch, HGC beats Oranje-Rood
The SCHC ladies showed why they are the unbeaten leaders in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. At the Oosterplas, coach Robbert van de Peppel's team won 4-0 over Den Bosch on Sunday. Yibbi Jansen was important for the team from Bilthoven with two field goals and a penalty corner. Kampong and Amsterdam also recorded victories. At the bottom, HGC did good business by beating competitors Oranje-Rood 4-2.
DEN BOSCH - SCHC 0-4
It took a dip into the history books to find out when Den Bosch had previously lost 4-0 at home. In 1992, the Bosch formation went down by the same figures against Amsterdam.
Penalty corner specialist Yibbi Jansen stood up for SCHC in the matches at the Oosterplas, although she opened the scoring after four minutes with a field goal. Just before half-time, she hit the forehand again. It was only the second time Jansen had scored two field goals in a row. She managed that earlier in 2018 on behalf of Oranje-Rood. In the end, she determined the final score at 0-4 from a penalty corner.
It was her 22nd goal against Den Bosch in all official leagues. Only against Hurley (27) did she score more often. Remarkably, Jansen scored as many as seventeen of her 22 goals against Den Bosch in away matches at the Oosterplas. This brings her season total to eighteen goals. Jip Dicke scored her sixteenth of the season.
SCHC is now unbeaten for thirty games in a row and recorded its seventh win in a row. In away games, the series stands at 24 matches, of which the last ten were all won. For Den Bosch, the defeat is the first points loss since the 4-2 defeat against Kampong on 9 November last year. The defeat dropped Den Bosch to fourth place in the league table.
ORANGE-ROOD - HGC 2-4
Marta Segú Rueda emerged as the big heroine at HGC. Thanks in part to her three goals, the team from Wassenaar won the important match at the bottom of the Tulp Hoofdklasse 4-2 against competitors Oranje-Rood. Oranje-Rood fell behind quickly, but turned the deficit into a lead before half-time. After the break, the team failed to hold on to that lead and HGC drew the longest straw. In doing so, HGC ended a weak run of ten games without victory. Oranje-Rood has now failed to win twelve of the last thirteen league games. On the league table, number ten HGC is three points ahead of Oranje-Rood.
TILBURG - AMSTERDAM 0-2
A stunt like earlier this season, when Tilburg won 3-2 at Wagener Stadium, was not in the cards this time. Amsterdam did not let themselves be surprised, although the difference was only made after half-time. Katerina Langedijk put Amsterdam ahead three minutes after the break. Just before time, Ivy Tellier made it 0-2. It was Amsterdam's third win in a row. In that series, the team scored 12 goals and did not concede a single one. Moreover, the team has been unbeaten on foreign soil for eleven matches in a row. Last ten matches left Tilburg with only one point. The difference with number eleven Oranje-Rood remains three points. Amsterdam climbed to third place at the expense of Den Bosch.
KAMPONG - BLOEMENDAAL 4-0
Kampong had little trouble with Bloemendaal at home in the end. At the Klapperboom it became 4-0. Still, there was a good chance for Bloemendaal just after half-time. Rosalie Rosman had the opportunity for the 1-1, but did not score. Shortly after, Kampong made it 2-0 and the match was played. For Kampong, Noor de Baat was missing and Guusje Moes fell out with a hand injury. It was Kampong's eighth win in the last nine matches. Bloemendaal, on the other hand, has been waiting for a win for nine league matches.
HDM - ROTTERDAM 2-3
The balance between the two teams was neatly balanced beforehand with three wins each. This time, that balance fell in Rotterdam's favour. The team won 3-2 against HDM, partly thanks to two goals by Amber van den Dijssel. With the win, Rotterdam continued its streak of five victories in its last 12 matches. Moreover, the team remained unbeaten in the last four away matches. Rotterdam last managed that in 2010. HDM has now been waiting for six matches for a win on home soil. Moreover, the team won only two of the last 12 league games.
