At the bottom of the Tulp Hoofdklasse Men, SCHC did fine business. In the basement of the league, the team from Bilthoven was too strong for bottom club Nijmegen 4-0. The win lifted SCHC from eleventh to a safe ninth place on the league table.

Nijmegen - SCHC 0-4
Max Sweering was the big star for SCHC in the clash against bottom-placed Nijmegen. With a hat-trick - two penalty strokes and a field goal in the second quarter - he laid the foundation for victory. Jelmer Uildriks added another goal. Nijmegen also got a penalty stroke, but Tijn Stuve saw his effort stopped by goalkeeper Fritz Schnoeckel.

Thanks to the victory SCHC climbed from eleventh to ninth place, a position that means direct enforcement at the end of the season. Nijmegen suffered its sixth defeat in a row and remains at the bottom of the Tulp Hoofdklasse with five points.

Hurley - Oranje-Rood 0-5
Oranje-Rood continued its winning streak against Hurley with a resounding 5-0 victory in the Amsterdam Forest. The Eindhovenites thus remain without a points loss against Hurley for the ninth time in the premier league. Thibeau Stockbroekx opened the scoring and later also delivered the final chord, bringing his season total to 12 goals. In between, Jacky van Hout (penalty corner) and Borja Lacalle struck, while Joep de Mol was also prolific from a penalty corner.

Matches in which Oranje-Rood compete are a guarantee of goals. In the last seven league games, 48 goals have already been scored. Hurley again failed to score in front of its own crowd, its fourth consecutive home match without a goal. The team thus set a negative club record in the books. In the period September-October 1999, Hurley failed to score in three consecutive home games. With the win, Oranje-Rood reduced its deficit on Rotterdam and Kampong to two and three points respectively.

Den Bosch - Rotterdam 4-1

Den Bosch remain unbeaten in home games this season after a convincing 4-1 win over vice-champions Rotterdam, ending five consecutive home matches without a win against the Rotterdammers. Timo Boers opened the scoring with a converted penalty stroke before Mees Kurvers doubled the lead. Jeroen Hertzberger reduced the deficit, but it was Boers, this time from a penalty corner, who again brought the margin to two. Jaïr van der Horst set the final score at 4-1.

The win lifted Den Bosch to second place in the rankings at the expense of Bloemendaal. Rotterdam could thus not benefit from Kampong's draw, the number four in the rankings. The difference between the two teams is one point in favour of the Utrecht team. Moreover, the Rotterdammers see Oranje-Rood approach to two points.

Amsterdam - HDM 5-3

After the ladies, Amsterdam's men also made it a goal-rich match at Wagener Stadium. The leader in the Tulp Hoofdklasse beat HDM 5-3. With this win, the Amsterdam men are unbeaten in ten matches at home. Dayaan Cassiem opened the scoring, before Will Calnan equalised on behalf of HDM. Amsterdam then stepped up a gear with goals from Boris Burkhardt and Luke Dommershuijzen from penalty corners.

For Burkhardt, it was his 23rd goal of the season. With that number, he shares the lead in the top scorers' classification with Miles Bukkens. Amsterdam then ran further ahead through goals by Floris Middendorp and Mustapha Cassiem. HDM fought back with two late goals by Fabian Verzuu, but that could not prevent defeat. The Hague team has been waiting for a win for nine matches.
