Tilburg relegated, EHL ticket SCHC
The ladies of Tilburg will play in the Promotieklasse next season. Coach Rémi Talma's team relegated on the 21st and penultimate round after the 1-1 draw against Rotterdam. In that match, Mikki Roberts missed two penalty strokes for Tilburg. A total of five penalty strokes were missed on this round. SCHC won 4-0 at home against HGC on Saturday to end the season as number one. The unbeaten frontrunner is thus also assured of participation in the EHL.
Rotterdam - Tilburg 1-1
The curtain has fallen for Tilburg. The straggler had to win to still have a chance of avoiding direct relegation on the last round, but that scenario disappeared with the draw and the point of competitor Hurley.
For Mikki Roberts it turned out to be an unpleasant afternoon. Tilburg's captain missed two penalty strokes. At 0-0, her effort was turned away by goalkeeper Kelsey Bing. Just before time, at 1-1, the American also stopped a second penalty stroke. In between, Roberts had put Tilburg ahead from a penalty corner, but four minutes later Bobbi Dijk equalised.
Tilburg has been relegated despite four away matches in a row without defeat. Rotterdam is five games without a win, but maintains itself in the Tulp Hoofdklasse without play-outs for the first time since promotion in 2022.
Hurley - Orange-Rood 1-1
In the relegation match at the Amsterdamse Bos, Hurley and Oranje-Rood did not gain much from the draw. The teams remain in eleventh and tenth place on the league table.
Oranje-Rood scored 0-1 after seventeen minutes through a penalty corner by Amber Brouwer, her first goal of the season. Hurley then failed to equalise. Sophie Schelfhout slid the awarded penalty stroke wide of the Oranje-Rood goal.
In the closing stages Romée Corver equalised with a tip-in, for the home team that played its 500th premier league game. With her equaliser, Corver prevented Hurley from fearing direct relegation next week.
Hurley remains eleventh with seventeen points, two points behind HDM and HGC. Oranje-Rood is one point behind both teams.
Den Bosch - Kampong 3-2
Earlier this season Kampong won 4-2 over Den Bosch, but at the Oosterplas a new win failed to materialise.
After only forty seconds, Joosje Burg made it 1-0. Guusje Moes brought Kampong level, then Pien Sanders put Den Bosch ahead again. Eline Jansen signed for 2-2 at half-time.
After the break, Frédérique Matla decided the match from a penalty corner. Den Bosch thus remained unbeaten at home against Kampong for the 29th time, the longest series against a single opponent in premier league history.
With the win, the national champion passed Kampong in the rankings. Den Bosch is now the new number two with a point ahead of Kampong. The Utrecht team saw a run of 11 unbeaten away games come to an end with the defeat.
SCHC - HGC 4-0
The match in Bilthoven was dominated by the farewell of Xan de Waard, who announced her farewell earlier in the day. She will quit SCHC and Oranje after this season.
Just before time, she was given a crowd change, together with Famke Richardson who is also quitting. De Waard crowned her last home game in the regular league with a goal: the 4-0. Earlier, Yibbi Jansen (penalty corner), Jip Dicke and Maud van den Heuvel scored.
With the big win, SCHC, which played its 500th main league game, will finish the league as number one and as a result can defend its European title in the EHL next season. The team is already 35 matches unbeaten in the Tulp Hoofdklasse.
HGC, which won only one of its last 13 away games, is not yet sure of a longer stay in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. The team dropped from eighth to ninth place and is only one point ahead of Oranje-Rood and two ahead of Hurley, which is 11th.
HDM - Bloemendaal 1-2
With two sharp penalty corners, Demi Hilterman not only gave Bloemendaal another win after six league matches, but above all, the team secured another season at the highest level. The victory lifted the cup winner from ninth to sixth in the league table.
HDM, which still took the lead through Roos Alkemade, suffered its third defeat in a row. As a result, direct retention in the Tulp Hoofdklasse is still not certain. The Hague team may be eighth, but the lead over number ten Oranje-Rood and number Hurley is only one and two points respectively.
Pinoké - Amsterdam 1-3
The Bosderby was won by Amsterdam. Imke Verstraeten had a remarkable game against her old club: two penalty strokes were stopped by Kiki Gunneman, but in between she did score from a penalty corner. Stella van Gils and Katerina Langedijk (penalty corner) made it 0-2 and 0-3. Florine Rodenburg made it 1-3 in the closing stages.
Amsterdam recorded its fifth consecutive away win and is already thirteen away matches unbeaten. Amsterdam remains fourth and can still climb. The difference with Kampong and Den Bosch is one and two points respectively.
Pinoké ends its seventh consecutive season in the top five of the regular league.
