Timo Boers immediately reached a milestone last Saturday at the resumption of the Tulp Hoofdklasse: the 22-year-old defender scored his 100th official goal for Den Bosch in the away game with Laren (0-6).
Boers signed for his jubilee goal in the 14th minute of the match - with a 0-1 lead. He did so with an unstoppable shot from a penalty corner, the young defender's speciality. It marked his 100th goal as a Den Bosch player.
Since his debut in the Bossche main squad in season 2021-2022, Boers has scored 68 goals in the Tulp Hoofdklasse, three in the play-offs, 27 in the battle for the Gold Cup and two in the Euro Hockey League. This season, his goal counter already stands at eighteen: thirteen in league and five in the cup tournament.
On target against HDM
Of all 22 teams Boers scored against, HDM scored the most goals (11). Schaerweijde (ten goals), Pinoké and Hurley (eight each) also turned out to be willing victims of the Orange international's shot power.
With his anniversary hit, Boers finds himself in special company. He is only the fourth player from the Bossche club to reach the 100-goal mark. Only Matthijs Brouwer (180 goals), Austin Smith (128) and Jeroen Delmée (108) preceded him.
