Top match in Den Bosch: will Jansen strike again at the Oosterplas?

Yibbi Jansen

When SCHC visit Den Bosch on Sunday, there is one name that will immediately put the home team on edge: Yibbi Jansen. The penalty corner specialist has emerged as a real tease for the Bosch defence in recent years.

Since her switch from Oranje-Rood to SCHC in the summer of 2019, Jansen has already scored 19 goals against Den Bosch in all official leagues. Only against Pinoké (21 goals) and Hurley (27) was she even more productive.

What makes her numbers extra special: the majority of those hits fell in Den Bosch itself. No less than fourteen of her nineteen goals against the reigning national champions were scored at the Oosterplas, where she once wore the shirt of the Bosch formation herself.

Her production against Den Bosch broken down

  • 4 goals in Bilthoven
  • 14 goals in Den Bosch (at Oosterplas)
  • 1 goal in the Wagener Stadium (EHL)

Also broken down by league shows her versatility

  • 9 goals in the Hoofdklasse (3 at home, 6 away)
  • 3 goals in the play-offs (1 at home, 2 away)
  • 4 goals in the Gold Cup (all in Den Bosch)
  • 3 goals in the EHL (1 neutral, 2 in Den Bosch)

Nobody comes close
Looking specifically at the Hoofdklasse since her arrival at SCHC, Jansen stands head and shoulders above the rest. With nine league goals against Den Bosch, she is the most prolific player against the Bossche team since 2019.

The competition follows well behind

  • 9 goals - Yibbi Jansen (SCHC)
  • 4 goals - Jip Dicke (HDM, SCHC)
  • 4 goals - Imke Verstraeten (Pinoké, Amsterdam)
  • 4 goals - Demi Hilterman (Bloemendaal)
  • 4 goals - Michelle Fillet (Amsterdam)
