Fourth final in a row for SCHC, after narrow escape
Sun 18 May 12:30
Women 1 - 1

After Saturday's historic 5-0 win - the biggest ever away win in the playoffs - SCHC had a lot more trouble with debutant Pinoké on Sunday. In the second matches of the semi-finals, the Bilthoven hockey players came away well: 1-1.
Whereas SCHC effortlessly exploited the chances a day earlier, it was Pinoké that prevailed. Daan Sabel's team created no fewer than eight penalty corners, but failed time and again to score from the head of the circle.
For a long time, a rare field goal by Maria Steensma seemed enough for a surprising victory. But in the closing stages SCHC pulled out all the stops: coach Gilles van Heesteren brought goalkeeper Elodie Picard to the side for an extra field player, and with success. Trijntje Beljaars scored the equaliser in the final minutes: 1-1.
SCHC qualified for the final for the fourth year in a row, although this time it did not go as smoothly as Saturday's result suggested. For Pinoké, the draw ended their first ever adventure in the playoffs. Steensma will go into the books as the first goal scorer ever for the Steekneuzen in the nacompetition.
