Why Yibbi Jansen is Den Bosch's tormentor
Sunday afternoon, the women of Den Bosch and SCHC face each other in the Tulp Hoofdklasse. For SCHC's club top scorer Yibbi Jansen, the top match against her old club could be one with a special touch.
Sunday's clash is a match between the numbers one and two of the league table: Den Bosch is the only one still unbeaten this season and SCHC is the most productive team in the Hoofdklasse.
If there is one name they could lose sleep over in Den Bosch, it is Yibbi Jansen. Since her move to SCHC in the summer of 2019, no one had been as prolific against the record champion as her.
In the Hoofdklasse in the last six seasons, Jansen scored eight times against Den Bosch - twice as many as the number two on that list, Amsterdam attacker Michelle Fillet (four).
And there is more: in total, Jansen scored 15 times in official matches against Den Bosch, of which no fewer than 12 times at the Oosterplas. At that spot, she already shot two hat-tricks (in 2022 and 2024), something no one had ever managed before.
Milestones in sight
As if that were not enough, Jansen could also reach personal milestones on Sunday. Her next goal is number 150 in the Hoofdklasse. The counter stands at 149 after her hit penalty stroke against Tilburg (1-0) last weekend: forty with Oranje-Rood and 109 as a SCHC player.
She also needs five more goals to break the two hundred official club goal barrier. She made 43 for Oranje-Rood, five for Indian club Odisha Warriors and now 147 for SCHC, in all leagues.
So Den Bosch has been warned, though not necessarily on the basis of this post.
