What the stats say

  • Kampong and Den Bosch faced each other 76 times in official matches at the highest level. Kampong won thirteen of those 76 matches, but 11 of them happened in the previous century.

  • Den Bosch remained unbeaten in 53 of the last 54 official matches against Kampong (W48 D5 L1).

  • Kampong won 4-2 at home against Den Bosch in the first half of this season's competition, which ended a run of 48 (!) regular league games in which the Utrecht team could not win against Den Bosch (W43 D5).

  • Kampong and Den Bosch face each other in the playoffs for the third time. Both previous confrontations also took place in the semi-finals. In season 2009-2010, Den Bosch won both matches (0-1 and 2-0) and also in 2023-2024: 0-3 and 7-0.

  • That 7-0 at the Oosterplas was the biggest win (and therefore biggest defeat) ever by a team in the history of the play-offs. Joosje Burg scored a hat-trick for Den Bosch in that match.

  • Kampong is in the playoffs for the 12th time. It is the second participation in the last three seasons for the Utrechters. Kampong won the national title twice: in 1994 and 1995.

  • Den Bosch is in the play-offs for the 29th time and participating in the league-tournament for the 28th (!) time in a row.

  • Since 1997-1998 (i.e. from the club's second play-off participation), Den Bosch captured the national title in 23 of the 28 seasons. Three times it lost the final, each time at the expense of Amsterdam and once the team thus missed out on the final. In season 2019-2020, there were no play-offs because of the corona pandemic.

  • Kampong has been hard to beat on home turf for a while now: the Utrechters lost only two of their last 16 home league games (W10 D4); the happened against top teams SCHC (1-2) and Amsterdam (0-4).

  • Den Bosch finished the regular league with twelve wins in its last fourteen games (V2). Coach Marieke Dijkstra's team lost in that series only to Kampong (4-2) and SCHC (0-4).
