Women's league start: all you need to know about match round 1

The Tulp Hoofdklasse Women is ready for the first round of play of season 2025-2026. Of course, here you will read again the most important facts and figures in the run-up to the league start.

AMSTERDAM - HURLEY

What the stats say

  • Amsterdam is unbeaten against Hurley (D W W W D) since six matches.
     
  • Amsterdam lost only one of its last 34 league matches with Hurley (W26 D7).
     
  • The previous edition of Amsterdam-Hurley - on 15 March this year - ended 2-2. Two hit penalty corners by Sofie Schelfhout defused Amsterdam goals by Renske Balemans and Maria Verschoor.
     
  • Hurley has struggled to score against Amsterdam at Wagener Stadium in recent years, witnessing just seven goals in its last nine matches. The Bosuilen remained dry in five of those nine games.
     
  • Hurley finished last season with only one win in its last 10 league games (0-4 at HDM). The remaining matches resulted in six draws and three defeats.

BLOEMENDAAL - PINOKÉ

What the stats say

  • Bloemendaal remained winless in its last 12 premier league games with Pinoké (D5 L7).
     
  • Pinoké only lost its first two away duels with Bloemendaal (in 1990 and 1998). After that, the Steekneuzen remained unbeaten nine times in a row at 't Kopje, although they won only three times.
     
  • Pinoké won 15 of its 22 matches last season, a new club record. Coach Daan Sabel's team also scored more goals than ever before (55).
     
  • Bloemendaal is back at the highest level after a year's absence. The Mussen, champions of the Promotieklasse in 2024-2025, start their 24th season in the Hoofdklasse.
     
  • Bloemendaal left the Hoofdklasse in 2024 with a lousy run. The team remained winless in its last 14 matches and suffered 11 defeats in that series.

HGC - ROTTERDAM

What the stats say

  • HGC won three of the last four matches with Rotterdam and lost the other encounter.
     
  • Those three wins by HGC are the team's only three victories in the last 19 matches between them with Rotterdam (D5 L11).
     
  • The last two editions of HGC-Rotterdam each ended in a 3-2 win for the home team from Wassenaar.
     
  • HGC ended last season with three defeats in a row: 5-1 at SCHC, 0-2 against Oranje-Rood and 4-0 at Kampong.
     
  • Rotterdam remained winless in its last 11 regular league matches (D2 L9) and won only one of its last 18 matches in the Hoofdklasse (D2 L15).

ORANGE-ROOD - KAMPONG

This is what the figures say

  • Oranje-Rood failed to win any of its last four league matches with Kampong: L L D L.
     
  • Oranje-Rood's last win over Kampong was the 1-2 in Utrecht on 20 April 2022. Daphne Nikkels scored two goals for the Eindhoveners that day, Vanessa Blockmans scored against.
     
  • Kampong won the last three away matches with Oranje-Rood since a 0-0 on 19 March 2021. The Utrechters scored 12 goals in that series: 1-2, 0-3 and 2-7.
     
  • Kampong suffered only four defeats last season, but unnecessarily lost many points via eight (!) draws, the most of any team. Partly because of that, coach Kai de Jager's team missed out on a ticket for the play-offs 
     
  • Last season, Oranje-Rood finished just outside the danger zone. The team finished in ninth place (21 points from 22 matches). OR owed that to a strong final sprint: the last three matches were all won.

SCHC - HDM

What the stats say

  • SCHC won the last seven matches against HDM since a 0-0 in Bilthoven on 3 October 2021.
     
  • SCHC is already 15 matches in a row unbeaten against HDM: 12 wins and three draws. 
     
  • The last defeat dates from 10 September 2017: 1-3, through goals by Sanne Pheninckx, Pien van Nes and Mascha Sterk. Caia van Maasakker scored against on behalf of SCHC.
     
  • SCHC was the most productive team in the regular league last season. After 22 matches, the counter stood at eighty goals, a new club record for SCHC in the Hoofdklasse.
     
  • HDM won only one of its last 13 games in the regular league last season and suffered 11 defeats in that series. Coach Diederik van Weel's team then only won against relegated Huizen (1-2).

TILBURG- DEN BOSCH

What the stats say

  • Tilburg and Den Bosch have faced each other six times so far in the Hoofdklasse: Den Bosch won five times and drew once.
     
  • Den Bosch scored 17 goals in its last three matches with Tilburg: 8-0, 4-1 and 1-5.
     
  • Den Bosch suffered only one defeat in its last 63 league games: the 3-2 at Pinoké on 27 April this year. The Brabanders further won 52 times in that series and drew 10 times.
     
  • Tilburg reached 31 goals in the regular league last season, a new club record in the team's three-year big league history. 
     
  • Den Bosch has been unbeaten in its opening game of the season since 1994, a record series of 30 games (W24 D6). That defeat came against Amsterdam (1-0, 4 September 1994).
